When it comes to the golf cart industry, how wires are ran, connected and protected is just as important as your golf cart moving when you hit the throttle. Not only are golf carts used, abused, and exposed to the elements, but they are now often riddled with electronic accessories like led lights and audio systems (which strongly increase the chances of a wiring problem). From a minor cut in a wire to water making its way into a harness, it’s scary how many different ways wiring can be compromised, which is why our 30 years of car audio installation experience is so important. Not only have we become skilled at wiring over the years, but we also understand the importance of soldering every connection as well heavily protecting wires with electric tape, Tesa tape, split loom, 3m puddy, and zip ties.

When it comes down to it, we know you don’t care how your golf cart accessories are wired, you just want them to work and work for a long time. Well, experiencing that kind of longevity out of your accessories requires them to be installed with a high level of knowledge and perfectionism that can only be found at BA Carts.

A pre-owned golf cart that received our BA Restoration runs like brand new and looks like it’s brand new both mechanically and cosmetically. However, a pre-owned golf cart that received the “Lip Stick on a Pig Restoration” runs like a used golf cart, looks like a used golf cart mechanically, but cosmetically, it looks brand new.

 

The “Lipstick” golf carts are one of the main reasons we got into the golf cart business. We knew there was a customer base out there that would value and pay for a golf cart that is truly restored both inside and out. A BA Restoration takes nearly double the amount of time of a lipstick restoration but that’s why we are the “Quality, Not Quantity” business. We’re not concerned with flipping as many golf carts as possible with only our profit in mind. We’re concerned with putting forth as much money and time necessary to perfectly restore every golf cart with the customer’s happiness in mind.

Purchasing highly rated golf cart fleets from private golf courses in northern states cost $500-$1000 more per golf cart versus buying poorly rated southern golf carts. This additional upfront cost combined with our BA Restoration Process forces us to list our pre-owned golf carts at price higher than the industry average, but just like anything else, you get what you pay for.

RANKING SCALE

We buy our pre-owned golf carts through brokers and brokers will rate golf cart fleets 1 thru 10, 1 being basically junk (good for parts) and 10 being brand new. We only purchase fleets that are rated 7 or higher, which means these carts are in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. Golf carts rated 7 and lower are extremely worn cosmetically/mechanically with internal engine and transaxle problems. Golf carts with extreme wear are a problem because they either: 1. Cost so much money to restore that they exceed the price of newer golf carts. 2. Deep internal problems within the engine/trans-axle might not be present when the golf cart is being rebuilt but those problems might be right around the corner which again, is a very costly fix.

PRIVATE OR PUBLIC GOLF COURSE

Golf carts are typically taken care of better at private golf courses versus public courses so we only buy golf carts through private courses.

NORTHERN VS SOUTHERN STATE COURSES

A year old golf cart at a golf course in Florida was likely used all day long, 365 days a year. On the other hand, a year old golf cart at golf course in Minnesota was probably used only 4-5 months. Why? Weather! And due to the weather, golf carts are used far less in northern states than they are in southern states, which is why we only buy from northern states.

Golf Cart Poker Runs

Hundreds of people. Hundreds of golf carts. Poker. Music. Beer. Food. Music. Cash. Prizes. 

How it works:

Show up to the town or campground that is hosting the event with your golf cart. Pay the entry fee. Grab a map showing the 5 businesses handing out cards. Drive your golf cart to each location and collect your cards. Once you have five, drive back to the event base, turn your cards in and hope you have the best poker hand of the day. If you do, you’ll be showered in cash and prizes.

We are fortunate enough to have several communities and campgrounds in our area that host Golf Cart Poker Runs which are one of the yearly highlights for golf cart enthusiasts. 

Not only do these poker runs celebrate the golf cart life, but they also give back to the community and support small businesses and schools.  

As a token of our gratitude, we sponsor these poker runs by offering cash and high ticket prizes for the best poker hand of the day. We also set up shop at the event with the BA tent and host a "pre poker party". We provide drinks and food for all, we jam to some music, display golf carts for sale, host games to win golf cart accessories, and answer any golf cart questions you might have.

To kick off the golf carting season we extend our hours and throw an open house every spring providing shoppers to look at over 100 golf carts for sale at discounted prices.

If you have an issue that falls under your warranty then we will promptly take care of you, no questions asked. CLUB CAR PRECEDENT

With a Rust Free 4” Box Beam Aluminum Frame and a 14 horsepower motor, Club Car’s Precedent was considered the Cadillac of golf carts for many years (Until the Club Car Onward arrived). We restore pre-owned Precedents for customers that want a Club Car but don’t want to pay the price for a new one. Many customers prefer restored Club Car’s over all other models because the aluminum frame doesn’t rust which is one less thing to worry about when owning a pre-owned cart. Furthermore, due to popularity, manufacturers have produced a vast array of accessories for Precedents which provides our customers with many options to choose from.

CLUB CAR ONWARD

The game changer of all game changers. When the Onward entered the market in 2017, it was time to say “Goodbye golf carts” and “Hello PTVs” (Personal Transportation Vehicles). To explain, a golf cart is a fleet cart that was built for the golf course and to hold two passengers. A PTV is a vehicle that essentially looks like a golf cart but has all of the cosmetic and mechanical features required to haul 2-6 passengers down the road.

One of the key reasons why the Onward has taken the industry by storm is Club Car’s Patent Pending suspension. Simply put, an Onward is the only lifted golf cart that has a suspension that is truly built to hold 4 to 6 passengers. Before the Onward, it was well known that installing a lift kit on your golf cart would compromise the soft ride or make your cart top heavy because golf carts were never intended to be lifted and were only made for two passengers. Well, due to the growing trend of people driving their golf carts on the road, a problem was starting to arise because nearly all lifted golf carts did a terrible job at handling the weight distribution of 4-6 passengers (especially at speeds in excess of 18mph). Club Car answered prayers and designed a wide track suspension that incorporates an anti-roll track bar, jounce bumpers, leaf spring, and shocks which handle the weight distribution of 4-6 passengers better than any PTV/golf cart on the road today.

In addition to the suspension, the Onward has a long list of premium features: A 14 horsepower Kohler engine with a computer that allows dealers to quickly diagnose most mechanical issues with a Bluetooth app, Swivel cupholders and hidden cooler under the flipdown backseat, Extended roof to keep the sun out of all the passenger’s eyes, Cushions with premium padding to keep you comfortable no matter how long you’re sitting in your Onward, The brightest LED head lights, brake lights, and turn signals in the industry, A brushguard to protect your front cowl, and Fender flares to keep you and your Onward clean.

Yamaha Drive

Coined by many as the most indestructible/dependable golf cart built the Yamaha Drive is one hell of a golf cart and is one of the reasons we are still in business today. One of reasons we endorsed Yamaha from the jump is that 100% of the Drive is manufactured by Yamaha which is uncommon in the golf cart industry (most golf cart manufacturers make everything BUT the engine). Furthermore, the Drive has the strongest steel frame of any golf cart in the industry. Now, steel can rust which we do our best to prevent by restoring the frame but nevertheless, the frame is nearly bulletproof. Last but not least, the Drive’s independent coilover suspension is the best in the industry making the Drive the best option for customers looking for a non-lifted golf cart that provides a smooth ride (With exception to the Drive 2 Quietech). The 11.5 horsepower engine is by no means the most powerful engine in golf carts today but when you consider the Drives other key components, it is an excellent option for the customer that doesn’t have a need for speed, but a need for dependability and smooth suspension.

Yamaha manufactured the Drive up till 2016 which is when they changed gears and started making the Drive 2. So considering the newest Yamaha Drives we can buy are 2016s, the Drive is typically our entry level golf cart for customers shopping for pre-owned models.

Yamaha Drive 2 Quietech

Just when you thought Yamaha already produced a great golf cart, they out did themselves and made the Drive 2 Quietech. Sporting the same engine as the Drive. Yamaha took their golf cart to the next level by retaining the sturdy steel frame but implementing a fully independent suspension, (front and rear) making it the best suspension of any Non-Lifted golf cart available today. However, Yamaha wasn't content with just revamping the suspension, they wanted to tackle the main reason why some people preferred Electric over Gas "Noise". So, they redesigned the exhaust to be quiet and surrounded the rear cowl with sound deadening material making the Drive 2 Quietech only a few decibels louder than an electric cart which makes it the most quiet gas golf cart available today.

Considering they both have the same engine, we typically recommend the Drive and Drive 2 Quietech to the same customer. However, a customer that is willing to spend a little more for the quiet and industry leading suspension should consider the Drive 2 Quietech.
